Group Exhibition: PAINTING

LURF GALLERY is pleased to present "PAINTING," a group exhibition featuring Miki Ishiyama, Rio Uchino, Takuma Oue, Narumi Tsubakino, Fu Nagasawa, Kousuke Nishimura, and Eri Fukami.

Painting is not only the act of painting; it also encompasses paint, color, the support, and the very process through which an image comes into being.
The seven artists featured in this exhibition are each exploring the nature of painting in their own unique ways.
Each of the seven artists in this exhibition explores what painting can be in a distinct way: attempts to give form to sensation, memory, and states of mind; reconfigurations of images found within everyday life and society; and inquiries into the structures of painting itself, including paint and support. While engaging directly with painting as a form, these practices quietly expand its contours.

We hope this exhibition will offer a sense of the breadth of painting today—revealed as these seven practices come together within a single space—and invite you to experience the expanding possibilities of "PAINTING."
