LURF GALLERY is pleased to present "Gary Give me," an exhibition by Makoto Honda.

In Honda's works, fleeting emotional tremors and fragments of memory surface quietly as motifs or subtle presences. One may be tempted to read a narrative into them, yet no explicit storyline is presented. Viewers are invited to receive these images—rising from Honda's memories and sensibilities—by overlaying them with their own, encountering each work through a personal context.

For this exhibition, Honda has kept verbal explanation to a minimum, offering only a statement in the form of an inverted triangle in which the word "ABRACADABRA" disappears letter by letter. As the letters vanish one by one, the figure seems to echo the sensation of letting go of meaning and explanation, and turning one’s gaze toward the painting itself.

Standing before the works, there is no single answer to be found. We hope you will take the time to look in accordance with your own senses, as you engage with each piece.
